Selsey RNLI Inshore Lifeboat Launched to Recover Unoccupied Dinghy

The inshore Lifeboat with its crew of three volunteers launched at 1.18 p.m. on Tuesday 24th March 2015. Solent Coastguard had requested the launch after an emergency call from a member of the public reporting a small dinghy drifting to the west of the Lifeboat station.

The report stated that no one could be seen in the dinghy. The inshore Lifeboat located the dinghy 100-metres west of Selsey Bill and confirmed that there were no persons on board and no signs of recent occupancy.

Solent Coastguards were happy there were no persons involved and requested that the dinghy be towed back to the Lifeboat station. At 1.40 p.m. the inshore Lifeboat arrived back at station and was rehoused. The dinghy was hauled up the beach above the high water mark.

CREW: Dave Lamdin (Helmsman), Dan Langford and Max Wiseman.
