Selsey Inshore Lifeboat Launches to Rhib

Selsey RNLI volunteers launched the inshore Lifeboat on Sunday 12th July 2015. Solent Coastguard had received a report saying that a small grey rhib appeared to be in trouble with the people on board waving.

'Betty and Thomas Moore' launched at 1.43 p.m. and four minutes later were alongside the rhib, which was 400 metres off of East Beach, Selsey. The weather on scene was wind westerly force 4-5 sea state moderate in drizzle. The two adults on board indicated that they were all well and had not waved for assistance.

Solent Coastguard requested that the Lifeboat make a search of the immediate area in case there was another rhib with problems but no other craft were found and so, at 1.51 p.m., 'Betty and Thomas Moore' was released to return to station, rehousing at 1.59 p.m.
